RentRedi is a mobile-first PM platform built around iOS, BiggerPockets Pro bundling, and Latchel maintenance dispatch. Shuk is a modern, focused platform with faster rent deposits, zero ACH passthrough on either side, web and Android parity, and predictive products RentRedi does not carry. This page covers where they overlap, where they differ, and how to choose.
The 30-second view on which platform fits which landlord.
You are an iOS-first DIY landlord, often a BiggerPockets community member, who values mobile-first UX and is comfortable with paid-only pricing from day one.
You want a focused PM platform with web and mobile parity (including Android), faster rent deposits, zero ACH passthrough on either side, and predictive products RentRedi does not carry.
RentRedi's strengths are mobile-first iOS UX, the BiggerPockets Pro bundle (free for BP Pro members), and Latchel-powered maintenance dispatch. Shuk's edge is faster rent deposits, zero ACH passthrough on tenants, human support at every tier (not paywalled to Grow+), and web + native Android parity RentRedi lacks. If your tenants are tired of $1 per ACH and 5 to 7 day deposit lags, Shuk fits.

What landlords typically ask when comparing Shuk to this platform.
BP Pro bundling is a real RentRedi advantage. If your full operating cost is just BP Pro membership plus free RentRedi access, the headline math is hard to beat on subscription dollars alone. The trade-off is the rest of the picture: RentRedi tenants pay $1 per ACH (vs $0 on Shuk), first-payment deposits can run 5 to 7 days (vs 1 to 2 days), there is no Android landlord app, and human support is paywalled to Grow tier. If those operating frictions do not bother you, RentRedi via BP is hard to beat. If they do, Shuk's $5/unit covers them.
Pre October 2024, RentRedi's ACH window was widely reported as 5 to 7 business days, with multiple Trustpilot reviewers citing five-figure rent balances stuck pending for 10+ days. RentRedi's Stripe partnership in October 2024 improved this to 2 to 3 days for established tenants, but the first-payment edge case still hits 5 to 7 days. Shuk's 1 to 2 day deposit window is consistent on every payment.
Yes. Shuk has native iOS and native Android apps for both landlords and tenants. RentRedi historically has no Android landlord app (only iOS and a web dashboard). For Android-primary landlords, this is a structural Shuk advantage.
Latchel is real 24/7 maintenance dispatch with licensed local vendors. RentRedi sells this as an add-on for less than 1% of monthly cash flow. Shuk's Service Provider Network is a vetted directory of providers, not a dispatch service: the landlord still searches and coordinates. If your top pain is taking 11pm tenant calls about leaks, RentRedi via Latchel has the better answer today. If your top pain is the broader operating stack (deposit speed, ACH fees, support quality, predictive intelligence), Shuk fits.
Yes. RentRedi exports rent rolls, tenant contacts, and document storage. Our onboarding team has migrated RentRedi accounts before. Active rent collection rails get a clean switch over (tenants re-onboard on Shuk's payment rail), maintenance tickets get a fresh start, and your historical accounting can come over via REI Hub export or PDF, Excel, and CSV.
At 1 unit, Shuk is $60/yr vs RentRedi Start's $60/yr. Same sticker. The difference is what is included: Shuk unlocks e-sign, applications, maintenance, listings, financial reports, LIT, and Two-Way Reviews at that price; RentRedi Start is rent collection only. If you genuinely only ever want rent collection on $5/mo, RentRedi Start is fine. The moment you need anything else, the Grow upgrade ($12/mo annual or $29.95/mo monthly) flips the math.
